Music
Music at Collegiate Academy
The music specials program exposes students to a broad range of world music as well as classic and contemporary popular music. Through these examples, students learn musical principles including rhythm, meter, pitch and timbre. Creation of music is also a critical part of the program as students listen to, analyze, make and perform music. Emphasis is placed on vocal as well as instrumental music with traditional as well as non-traditional instruments. Students in grade 4, 5 and 6 also have the unique opportunity to audition and train for Colorado’s elite All State Choir, which performs annually at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs.
